The regulation (EG) Nr. 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council dated 18 December 2006 concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) requires TARGA to inform its customers with sufficient information about the presence of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) present in the articles marketed by TARGA to allow for a safe use. The candidate list of substances of very high concern (SVHC) according to Article 59 (1) of the above regulation can be retrieved through the Internet under

and has been published on October 28, 2008 for the first time.

(*) Remarks: Environmental protection and sensitivity have been part of the TARGA corporate guidelines for many years. Since September 2005 TARGA has voluntarily conducted environmental scans of its products and limited the use of Phtalates (including DEHP), Nonylphenol and Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAH), mostly on much stricter requirements than required by the new REACH regulation. In despite of this, we have not yet been able to completely prevent the use of DEHP in a few remaining products such as power cords and external cables.
